The Open Society Institute is running a Romani women's empowerment grants initiative under the Decade of Roma Inclusion. This initiative aims at achieving gender equality both through empowering Romani women to be able to take part in all processes and through mainstreaming Romani women's concerns within policies and practices.

The grants are open to Roma NGOs, especially Romani women's NGOs working on Roma and gender issues within the Decade of Roma Inclusion countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Spain.
